The Pathway Transportation Driver transports participants in Pathway’s Micro Transit System from and to each stop safely, coordinates route, and effectively communicates any delays or issues with passengers and employer.

REPORTS TO: Site Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drivers will be required to follow the scheduled route in a timely manner
  • Safely pick up and drop off all passengers to their designated stop
  • Must represent Pathway Resource Center, Inc. in a professional manner at all times
  • Must employ defensive driving techniques to operate the transit bus
  • Must be able to obey all state and federal traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit regulations
  • Must enforce COVID-19 protocol to reduce risk of exposure
  • Occasionally will be required to prevent or stop unruly behavior from passengers
  • Will need to effectively communicate with passengers and employers regarding delays or issues along a given route
  • Maintain condition, cleanliness, and status of vehicle, to report any required maintenance or damage to employer

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a High School Diploma
  • Must Have a Minimum of Two (2) Years For Hire Endorsement
  • Must have a Minimum of Two (2) Years of Experience related to the specified Duties and Responsibilities
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check
  • Must pass DOT Physical & Drug Screening
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a Reliable Vehicle with Current Vehicle Insurance
  • Must possess a valid and current Commercial Driver’s License, endorsed for Passenger Vehicles
  • Full-Time: Must be able to work 40 Hours per Week
  • Must work some Weekends (8-10 per year) and Evenings (rotate shifts with other drivers to cover 7am-8pm schedule)
  • Hourly Pay Rate: Negotiable Based on Education & Experience
  • Knowledge of Indianapolis and Far-Eastside area Preferred

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to follow all State & Federal Traffic rules and regulations
  • Must ensure implementation of policies and practices
  • Must have knowledge of Indiana Motor Vehicle Code & basic first aid practices
  • Must be dependable, confidential, and honest
  • Ability to work positively within a team, following directives without the inclination to control or overhaul interactions
  • Capability to respect others while also maintaining personal boundaries
  • Understand the importance of mutual respect in creating a harmonious work environment
  • Prioritize delivering quality work as proof of job competence along with accountability for decisions and actions
  • Able to work with a diverse demographic population
  • Have a can-do attitude for multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to handle conflict resolution
  • Must meet physical requirements necessary to perform required duties safely and effectively
  • Must display a positive attitude and friendly, service-oriented personality
  • Must have six months of experience driving passengers in a commercial vehicle

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:

  • Performance bonus
